Get ready for an exciting debut as RS1, the reigning IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS class champions, reveals their driver lineup for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Daytona!
The Ultimate Racing Team-Up
RS1 has assembled a dream team for their first Rolex 24 appearance. Leading the charge is Jan Heylen, the 2022 Rolex 24 At Daytona GTD class winner and RS1's GS champion. He'll be joined by Eric Zitza, an IMSA WeatherTech series newcomer and the son of a racing legend, Ron Zitza. But here's where it gets interesting: RS1 has also secured the services of Porsche factory driver Sven Müller and Dillon Machavern, the 2017 Michelin Pilot Challenge GS champion.
Müller, a seasoned pro, returns to the Rolex 24 after a successful 2021 season, where he won the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup title. Machavern, on the other hand, brings his own impressive credentials, having claimed victories with Turner Motorsport in the WeatherTech Series.
A Season of Triumphs
RS1's recent track record is nothing short of impressive. In addition to Heylen's GS title, the team has dominated various championships over the past four years. They've taken home the Pirelli GT4 America Silver class championships in 2022 and 2024 and, in a remarkable debut, won the GT World Challenge America Pro title in their first year of GT3 racing.
And this is the part most people miss: RS1's success isn't just about championships. It's about the talent and dedication of their drivers. Heylen's return to the WeatherTech Championship at Petit Le Mans and his impressive GT World Challenge America performance alongside Alex Sedgwick are testaments to his skill.
As RS1 prepares for their Michelin Endurance Cup debut, the question arises: Can they maintain their winning streak? Will their driver lineup live up to expectations?
