Rieju, a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer, has announced the arrival of its new A2-compliant adventure bike, the Aventura Rally 307 and 307R, in the UK. The first 80 bikes are expected to arrive in January, with more shipments following in the coming months. This follows a small spearhead shipment earlier this month, which has already sold out.
Rieju is more famous in the UK for its off-road two-stroke bikes than for its road machines. However, the Aventura 500, a Honda CB500 twin-mimicking model, has been sold in the UK since 2024 with little fanfare. The Rally 307's 293cc engine and six-speed, slipper-clutched gearbox are similar to those of the Voge 300 Rally, with an identical bore and stroke of 78 x 61.2mm. However, according to Jamie Masterman, the commercial director of Urban Moto, the UK distributors of Rieju, the 307 engine has been modified, with differences in the upper parts, airbox, exhaust, and cylinder head cover.
This modification has resulted in a claimed five extra horses and one and a half lb.ft of torque, giving it a competitive 33bhp at 8500rpm and 20lb.ft of torque. The bike features modern 43mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, with both front and rear suspension having a travel of 235mm and being fully adjustable. Its design draws inspiration from KTM's 390 Adventure R and Honda's CRF300 Rally, with an over-under LED headlight and a mask-like windscreen.
Rieju is known for its large fuel tanks, with the Adventure 500 model boasting a range of 621 miles between fill-ups, thanks to twin 20-litre tanks. The Rally 307 has a single 21-litre tank, which is claimed to provide a range of 310 miles, the highest of any small-capacity adventure bike on the market. Both models feature a full-colour dash with gadgets like rear ABS deactivation, ambient temperature sensor display, and satellite navigation with Mirror Link.
The main distinctions between the standard and R models are the red colour scheme, aluminium bash plate, and aggressively knobbly Michelin Tracker tyres. Additional upgrades, such as Öhlins shocks, are available. Rieju currently has a handful of suppliers in the UK and hopes to expand its dealership network in the coming year. The basic Rally 307 is expected to cost around £4599, with the 307R starting at £4999. Pre-orders are available from the Rieju website.
The MCN Take: With the market flooded with affordable, reliable adventure bikes, the Rally 307 stands out with its modified engine, adjustable suspension, and large fuel tank. However, its pricing and competition make it difficult to determine if it will stand out from the crowd.
