Paramount has announced a new addition to its 2026 release schedule, Jonathan Levine's untitled John Tuggle film, bringing their domestic count for the year to 13 titles. This biographical drama follows the true story of John Tuggle, known as 'Mr. Irrelevant,' who was the last player chosen in the 1983 draft by the New York Giants. The film stars David Corenswet, Michael Shannon, and Isabel May, with producers including Gillian Bohrer and Nick Santora. Paramount has also secured release dates for two highly anticipated films: 'The Rescue,' a modern Western directed by Potsy Ponciroli, starring Brandon Sklenar and Hassie Harrison, and set for January 29, 2027, and 'Get Lite,' Teyana Taylor's directorial debut, a dance drama about a sheltered student finding inspiration in the subways of New York City, opening on April 9, 2027. Additionally, Paramount has scheduled an untitled horror event movie for July 16, 2027, adding to their already impressive 2027 slate. These additions bring Paramount's 2027 film slate to nine titles, with a mix of biographical drama, Western, and dance drama genres.
