A former NFL player, now just 29 years old, has been missing for several months, a distressing update shared by his sister on social media.
On January 13, 2026, Essence Zhane took to Facebook to reveal that her brother, Sam Beal, who played as a cornerback for the New York Giants from 2018 to 2021, has not been seen for seven months. Drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Beal's last known whereabouts were in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Zhane expressed her deep concern in her post, stating, "Good morning, tomorrow marks seven months since we’ve had any contact or seen my brother. We have done everything we can to piece together his disappearance, and at this point, we urgently need help from anyone who might know something. I’m not here to answer a multitude of questions; I just need this message to reach the right people so we can find some answers or at least begin to find closure."
She added an emotional note, saying, "As a big sister, I want my brother to understand how much we love him and miss him. This situation has weighed heavily on our hearts for months."
In her plea, Zhane is encouraging anyone with information about Beal's current location to reach out to either the Kentwood Police Department or the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Sam Beal hails from Michigan and played college football at Western Michigan University before embarking on his professional career. During his time in the NFL, he participated in nine regular-season games and recorded a total of 27 tackles.
