Previously, two results and 14 laps were needed, but now one result and eight laps in a Permit-B car will do the trick. The minimum driving time criterion has been scrapped, making it easier for drivers to progress.
This update is a significant departure from the stricter regulations of the 2010s, which often left drivers in a waiting game. Valentino Rossi, the MotoGP icon, was vocal about his desire to race at the Nurburgring 24 Hours but faced challenges due to the previous permit system.
Sim racing is now a valid path to Permit B, but it's not the only way. Drivers can still choose from three options: the standard DPN B course, completing two RCN races with a driver change, or a solo RCN race.
